B.C.'s economic woes started long before Trump

Nice try, David Eby, but you can't blame Trump for what has happened to B.C.'s economy.

Business growth in B.C. started slipping in 2017, the year the NDP took office. By 2022 to 2024, it had slowed to about 1% a year, roughly a third of what this province normally sees. That was years before the current U.S. tariffs arrived.

Tariffs are hurting B.C., and nobody is pretending otherwise. But by the time they hit, the slowdown was already eight years old. It was driven by decisions made in Victoria, including costly union-only rules on public projects, record spending and permit delays that drag on for years. Eby owns those decisions, and pointing at Washington doesn't change that.

On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again.
