From a hotel meeting in Trail in 1975 to Canada's largest construction association, ICBA's first half-century is one of the great untold stories of British Columbia's history.

So we're telling it.

ICBA at 50 collects 50 stories — real people, real battles, real moments that changed construction in B.C. forever. The open shop contractors who stood their ground at Pennyfarthing and Port Alberni. The founders who scraped together dues money to keep the lights on. The builders who proved, project by project, that free enterprise and open competition deliver better outcomes for workers, clients, and taxpayers alike.

Today, 85% of B.C.'s construction workforce is open shop. That didn't happen by accident.
