MEDIA ADVISORY: ICBA to Release 2021 Wage & Benefits Survey Wednesday (TOMORROW)

VANCOUVER – The Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (ICBA) will release the results of its 2021 Wage and Benefits Survey tomorrow (Wednesday) morning in Vancouver.

Chris Gardner, President, ICBA

ICBA President Chris Gardner will present the results of ICBA’s annual survey of hundreds of B.C. construction companies and reveal:

  • How many companies believe more work is on the way in B.C. this year,
  • How COVID-19 affected construction wages in 2020,
  • How much construction wages are expected to change in 2021 and 2022,
  • Wage range changes for 18 key construction trades,
  • Which trades have the most critical labour shortages, and
  • Regional breakdowns across the province.

Construction is responsible for 9 per cent of the B.C. economy, and employs nearly 250,000 men and women, so this information is of great interest to a broad swath of British Columbians. ICBA is the voice for 85% of those workers.

A news release with the results will be issued at 8AM Wednesday, Dec. 30. ICBA President Chris Gardner will be available to the media all day Wednesday.
