Exciting events returning in 2022
We’re excited to host networking and events as soon as public health officials announce it’s safe to do so.
In 2022, we will be looking to host our annual ICBA Gala, our ICBA Open golf tournament, our CEO Breakfast, and several regional industry events.
Over the past few years, the ICBA Gala Dinner has become our single biggest event, drawing nearly 1,000 people to celebrate the construction industry and the men and women who wake up every day to go work on a job site.
ICBA’s Quarterback Speaker Series has been very popular. In 2017, we welcomed two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning, just a few short months after his retirement. In 2018, it was Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Brett Favre, sharing his experience winning a Super Bowl and starting 297 straight NFL games, a record that may never be broken. In 2019, three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman shared stories about his dad (a welder), leading a team, and transitioning to an award-winning career in the media.
We look forward to returning in 2022 with another Super Bowl champion as our keynote speaker.
ICBA CEO Breakfast
Every year, the ICBA CEO Breakfast kicks off the BUILDEX construction trade show at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The next CEO Breakfast is tentatively set for Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
ICBA President Chris Gardner releases the results of ICBA’s annual Wage and Benefit Survey at the breakfast, which provides insight into the current state of the construction industry in British Columbia and the trends shaping construction in the province: which trades are most in demand, what companies are paying workers, and how construction businesses are feeling about the state of the economy. Not only is this a huge help to our companies, it has become a major media event.
We also bring in top-notch speakers, such as broadcasting legend Rex Murphy, Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Brett Wilson, and rennie group’s Bob Rennie and Andrew Ramlo.
