This 14-week Painter and Decorator Red Seal Challenge Program is built for experienced painters who want their Red Seal, without putting life or work on hold. You stay in your community, keep your job, and complete your training online after hours at a pace that fits your schedule.

This program is designed for painters who:
Have at least four years of full-time experience as a Painter and Decorator
Are ready to challenge the Red Seal exam instead of doing traditional technical training
Want flexible, after-hours learning
Are comfortable with online learning and live virtual classes
Note: Participants should have their challenge application approved by their provincial apprenticeship authority before writing the exam.
How the Program Works
Blended Learning That Fits Real Life
Over 14 weeks you work through the full course content for Levels 1, 2, and 3. The program combines:
Self-paced online modules
Live virtual classes with an experienced instructor
Forum discussions with other painters
Video demonstrations of key tools and techniques
All sessions are scheduled outside regular working hours so you do not need to take time off work.

If you are an experienced painter and want the recognition and mobility that come with Red Seal certification, this after-hours program is built for you.
You already know the trade on site. This program deepens the theory behind what you do every day and prepares you for the Red Seal exam.

Trade math fundamentals and reading drawings
Tools, equipment and surface preparation
Paint technology, colour theory and coating application
Correcting paint and coating failures
Wood finishes and decorative or specialty finishes
