The 2022 Q1 numbers are in from the BC Government and (AGAIN!) ICBA sponsors more trades apprentices than anyone else in B.C.!
ICBA sponsored 1,107 apprentices in Q1 — 343 more than any other group, union, business or association.
That’s on top of the thousands more ICBA open shop members sponsor directly — 82% of all B.C. trades apprentices are sponsored by the open shop.
We’re #2 for female apprentices, and #2 for Indigenous apprentices — but we’re working to be tops in those categories too.
(This is information the BC Government used to release proactively — now we have to file Freedom of Information requests to get it. It’s almost like the BC NDP and their Big Labour friends and insiders don’t want the public to know that the bulk of training in construction is done by ICBA and the open shop.)
