Vision, Mission and Core Values

To be the dominant voice in construction in British Columbia, substantially growing our Association and influence.

Foster and perpetuate the principle of open shop. Support the success of members through the provision of value added services.

Core values:

ICBA values free enterprise and the freedom for private businesses to operate competitively in an open and fair economic landscape with minimal government regulation.

We support legislation that is fair to employers and employees in regards to labour relations, employment standards, apprenticeship training, worker’s compensation, safety, and unemployment insurance.

Employers and employees have the right to determine wages and working conditions within the boundaries of the law. We believe that an employer must have concern for the general welfare of employees.

We oppose violence, coercion, intimidation and denying the right of free choice.

We believe opportunities should be available to persons regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender, age, and sexual orientation. These opportunities should be available for both open shop contractors and union workers alike.
