Kerry and Jordan talk about our latest featured course.
You schedule a Monday morning meeting. Your project coordinator is in the office, two estimators are on Teams from home, and your superintendent is calling in from a job-site truck. Decisions get made, but a week later half the team is operating off different information. Sound familiar?
This is the reality of leading hybrid teams in construction. The work still has to get done — bids submitted, schedules met, crews coordinated — but the old playbook for managing a fully co-located team doesn't quite fit anymore. Communication breaks down in new ways. Remote staff start to feel like outsiders. Accountability gets fuzzy. Conflict festers because it never gets surfaced face-to-face.
ICBA's Leading Hybrid Teams workshop, delivered by Kwela Leadership, is built specifically for managers navigating this challenge. It's a focused, 3.5-hour live online session that covers the fundamentals of strong team leadership while zeroing in on what's different — and harder — about leading people who aren't all in the same room.
What you'll work through:
What you'll walk away with: better communication across your team, higher engagement from your remote staff, fewer misunderstandings, sharper accountability, and a clearer sense of your own leadership style.
The workshop is run by Kwela Leadership, an experienced team-development firm that ICBA has trusted to deliver leadership training to construction industry managers.
